Keeping Kids Safe

Since 1992, we’ve focused on keeping kids safe at home, in school, on the road, and at play. Safe Kids Connecticut is affiliated with Safe Kids Worldwide.

Supporting CT organizations and individuals working to protect children from injuries and save lives.

Safe Kids Connecticut operates out of Connecticut Children’s Injury Prevention Center (IPC) in Hartford – part of the state’s largest pediatric medical center. The mission of the IPC is to reduce unintentional injuries and violence among Connecticut residents through injury prevention programs and policies. Though the IPC runs programs for adults as well, Safe Kids Connecticut is focused solely on injury prevention for children up to age 19.

Part of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States, one of the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the country, Connecticut Elks Association Charities, Inc. has sponsored Safe Kids Connecticut since 1999. Their generous funding and enthusiastic support help us to provide vital safety education and resources directly to Connecticut communities.

Connecticut Elks volunteers support safety events across the state, and help to distribute items such as smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, bicycle helmets, and car seats. Each year, they support Safe Kids Day, our flagship event held at one of Hartford’s elementary schools, where kids learn about safety while having fun and engaging with hands-on activities.
