Greater awareness of dangers and simple steps to protect children can have a profound impact on child safety. Safe Kids Connecticut works tirelessly to prevent injuries and deaths by educating the public and helping families and communities protect their children.
Education and Events
Talking to kids and families face-to-face about critical safety issues. Giving out educational materials and vital safety equipment such as car seats, smoke alarms, CO detectors and bike helmets. Events include:

- Health and safety fairs

Community Outreach
Connecting with families and businesses to promote child safety and rallying more organizations and individuals to join our network.
Training
Empowering influencers by training educators and other leaders to help spread our child safety messaging. Training and supporting child passenger safety technicians across the state who can assist families in their communities with car seat installations and inspections.
Public Policy and Advocacy
Keeping child safety issues front and center for state and local legislators. Advocating for new policies and laws to protect children.
Research
Conducting research into the prevalence and causes of childhood injuries, as well as potential solutions to reduce them.
Creating Safer Environments
Working with municipalities, schools, businesses, and families to support safe places for kids to live, work, and play.
